Quotes-Wall-Decals

Does your family have a special saying, or is there a special quote that you love? Maybe you’ve always wanted to dress up a wall in your home but don’t know quite where to start?

Our custom quote decals in-situ

We love doing custom work and when we think about all the custom quotes we’ve created over the years for our lovely customers there are two that really stand out … both of them looked amazing and the love for them keeps coming and coming!

How beautiful is this girl's room created by Justine Brown of Chocolate Brown Interior Styling! It’s the perfect bedroom decal to inspire both little people and big people who are thinkers, doers, and dreamers. Justine chose to have this decal created in our silver colourway … what would your colour choice be for your room? Ps. We love the wooden swing Justine used in this room too!

Our super happy customer Jessica had a wall that needed some dressing and what a beautiful way she chose to dress it! This family and friends daily reminder of living a happy and caring life has really taken on its own place in Jessica’s home and looks amazing!

Can you imagine something like these on your walls … remember our decals come in 25 different colours and are removable so even if you’re renting or don’t want to mark your walls you can decorate your home with a special quote too!

Adding a Personal Touch to Your Home and Office

Customising your walls and using décor to create an enjoyable working space

Custom Wall Decals

Recently Vinyl Design were engaged to create custom wall decals for three businesses – Dialog in Melbourne and Steric and Xinja in Sydney.

Steric has been around since 1964 and are sure to have processed and packaged lots of foods that we’re all familiar with. Dialog has grown since their inception in 1979 to provide innovative IT solutions across Australia to all industry sectors. Two different office décor looks for very different industries … IT and food!

It’s important for our workspaces to be harmonious, unfussy, and uncluttered to allow for creativity and industriousness to flow. But at the very same time it’s important to avoid a sterile and stark environment … it can be a tricky design game! Neutral walls are a very good place to start because that gives you a base to decorate with wall art as well as important company information.

We worked with Steric to create teamwork and meeting spaces that will ensure that the company’s vision and purpose are forefront in planning and development. A constant reminder of what Steric is all about. We used both images and text to ensure that the large wall piece was a focal point of the meeting room, is visually appealing, and it’s message is clear … but also leads to creativity in thinking and discussion. This large custom wall décor for Steric sure is a winner!

Dialog are innovators in the IT space and so it makes perfect sense that the custom office décor we worked with them to create reflects that. Areas of the office building that would usually be left plain, boring, and lacking in creativity now have the designer look (and well within a design budget). The printer room has a fun new look – not necessary; but an injection of fun to an otherwise boring and monotonous task area making collecting and setting up the print run something more fun!

Creating a Special Space for Your Little Princess

Décor for walls, doors, mirrors and windows, storage, and an ‘oh so perfect’ throw

Girls-Room-Decor

As we glide into winter our minds are on staying indoors and making our spaces cosy and inviting. Recently we discussed decorating boys bedrooms … never an easy task! But now as we collectively bask in the afterglow of “the wedding” let’s look at decorating your little princess’s bedroom!

Decorating girls bedrooms is always something fun, but it is soooo easy to get carried away and go overboard! A top tip here is to start with two or three background pieces and then build up slowly … you are always going to find something new to add ;-)

A perfect starting point is your walls … every room has them so starting there gives you a wonderful backdrop to the fun that can come later! And, what better to decorate your walls with than a pretty wall decal or two (or even three!).

First up take a look at your room … every room will have some obstacles in the way be it doors, wardrobes, windows, or essential furniture; but we can also use these “obstacles” to decorate on! Now, think about what theme or style you’d like to use. Next up is the FUN bit … choosing the decorations!

Starting with the walls gives you a lot more latitude when it comes to decorating the rest of the room with soft furnishings and other décor items. Vinyl Designs have so many pretty designs to choose to decorate your wall space! Have a look at some of our Kids Wall Decals to get an idea of which theme feels right to you.

Let’s have a play here! We’ll show you a sample of our selection for a dreamy little girls bedroom :-). Our theme is not specific but rather soft and dreamy … you could choose nature, animals – wild, friendly, or forest, or even something fanciful like diamonds and fairy tales!

Don't think about walls only though, our decals can also stick on windows, doors, wardrobe doors, you can use your imagination.

Something tall like the Dandelion Wall Decal would look great next to the bed or cot or on a wardrobe door, you can have it customised with your little girl's name, she'll love that!

You can complement the Dandelion with a flutter of Butterflies Decal (you can choose any two colours from the palette to make up your flutter!). Each Butterflies pack includes 16 butterflies in varying sizes from 8-14cm - plenty to make a lovely show!

Let’s finish off our wall display with a couple of VERY cute bunnies resting just next to the bookcase … you can find the perfect little buns in our Fluffy Bunnies Wall Decal!

If nature and animals themes are not your thing you could opt for something simple and minimal like our Mini dots wall decals, there are 50 dots in each pack and you can create a wallpaper effect without the hassle of real wallpaper!

There you are, you’ve created the perfect backdrop to your room with something on each wall that’s fresh, fun, and simple! Our wall decals are removable (so even if you’re renting you can use them without worry of paintwork getting damaged!) and nearly all come in a choice of 25 different colours – for this room we’d choose two main colours and maybe add either a silver or white as a contrast.

With the background done let’s take a look at some other beautiful décor items that we could use to dress our little princess’s room.

Add Creativity And Fun To Your Kids Room With Rowen & Wren

Decorative Ideas for your Nursery

Rowen-and-Wren

Rowen and Wren have one of the most unique designs in home decorating and are very successful because they have such a great passion for their work. They have a range of products that includes furniture, mirrors, lighting, pillows and cushions, and a wide variety of accessories. Even though they create beautiful designs for the entire home, some of their best designs are found in the nursery.

In their line of children’s furniture that are perfectly designed to fit little bodies, there are some beautiful pieces of furniture in the in the form of an almost indestructible Formica chair that comes in powder blue, pumpkin orange, petal pink, and snow white. These adorable little chairs are easily stacked and are perfect for children aged three and up.

Then when they are through playing and ready for their afternoon nap, take a look at their eiderdown quilts and pillow sets in an adorable pepper or poppy print. The eiderdown can be used as a blanket, duvet, or even a play mat and it’s warm, comfortable, and very soft.

Once the kids are up and ready to go play again, there are some adorable knitted “pets” that are soft and cuddly and each has their very own characteristics. These include Suzette the Cat, Claire the Cow, Bandit the Raccoon, and Socks the Fox. Each comes with a story about their character and they are sure to become a long time, beloved companion to the little tykes.

When the kids get just a bit older, Rowen and Wren have some great puzzles that are perfect for little hands, as well as several characters that serve as chop and serve boards that will be a great inspiration to the little chefs, and an adorable lamb book holder for the little ones who love books.

Cool Mobiles for your Nursery

Puka Puka Design

Puka-Puka-Mobiles

Babies aren’t easy to entertain. They can look at an object for only so long before they lose interest. But one product has kept them spellbound for decades now. Baby mobiles are used to soothe and entertain babies during their first few months of life. This is the stage where neonates spend most of their time in their cribs.

How do they work?

Newborn babies do not have very good vision. They can only discern blurry shapes and figures because they are nearsighted. It is only after the third month of life that most babies begin to recognize familiar faces. Before that time, they are nearly purblind. However, they can make out motion. They can tell if an object, no matter how fuzzy it may be, is moving. This is the genius of the baby mobile.

Lying on her back after a nap or just before one, a baby looks up and sees a slowing moving object. See might not be able to identify the shapes, patterns, or designs on this contraption, but she can tell that it is moving and that, for her, is intriguing. It is no wonder baby mobiles are one of the most popular baby nursery accessories.

Puka Puka Design is an Australian brand specialized in designing very cool and modern mobiles.

Puka puka in Japanese means something floating gently in space. Nina Still is the designer behind Puka Puka, she studied architecture and her new love is making kinetic mobiles. Each mobile is a unique handcrafted object.

They can be used as decorative pieces in the house, you don’t need to have a baby to buy one!

I really can’t tell which one is my favourite, they are all so gorgeous!

Have a look at Puka Puka website, which mobile is your favourite?

Smart Australian Design: Bower & Beyond

Rocking Eggs and Animals!

Rocking-Egg-BowerBeyond

If asked, most parents would tell you that the happiest day of their lives was when their kids were born. Suddenly a couple becomes a family and both are left to raise a precious bundle of joy whose future is virtually limitless. Almost without exception, parents want the best for their children. And that begins with the nursery.

Soon after they find out they’re pregnant, most couples select a room and start decorating it. They assemble and arrange baby furniture and baby toys and make certain that everything is functional and safe. Some items meet these requirements better than others.

The baby bouncer or rocker has long been seen as an essential nursery item. It helps soothe restless babies with a calming motion that can send them off to dreamland in short order. The only problem is that most rockers are either functional and expensive or inadequate and cheap. There seems to be no in between.

Bower & Beyond was founded on the simple idea that products for babies could be stylish, functional, and sustainable. Many of the items they sell incorporate sustainable materials that are either natural or recyclable. They also employ sustainable processes to manufacture the products in their catalogue whenever possible.
One of the products they are most proud of is rokii®, an egg-shaped baby bouncer that can safely accommodate babies and infants alike. A highly responsive bouncer, rokii® will continue to move as the baby does until he stops moving, i.e., falls asleep. If your child is not particularly active, it may be necessary to manually move the device with a slight push or tap.
